How it works
Maturity value is deposit times (1 + APY divided by 100 divided by 12) raised to the power of the term in months — monthly compounding. Interest earned is maturity value minus deposit. Early-withdrawal penalties, taxes, and minimum balances are not modelled here.
Frequently asked questions
Is the APY on this page a bank's current rate?
No. Enter the APY the bank states for that CD term, and confirm it before opening an account — advertised rates change and may depend on the deposit size.
What if I withdraw early?
Most CDs charge an early-withdrawal penalty, often months of interest. This tool shows the full-term value only.
