How it works

Your current savings grow with compound interest, and each monthly contribution grows too. The calculator first works out what your current savings will be worth at the end (current × (1 + monthly rate)^months), then finds the monthly payment whose future value covers the rest of the goal: monthly = remaining ÷ (((1 + rate)^months − 1) ÷ rate). Total contributed is your current savings plus every monthly payment, and growth is the goal minus that total. Returns are never guaranteed, so treat the result as a planning estimate.

Frequently asked questions

What if the monthly number is too high?

Give yourself more time, lower the goal, or start with a larger lump sum. Even a small increase in time cuts the monthly amount a lot.

Is the return guaranteed?

No. Markets and account rates vary, so the real result will differ. Use a cautious return when planning.
